本教材共有8单元，主要内容包括工业机器人的发展、工业机器人安全规则、工业机器人结构、工业机器人控制系统、工业机器人的基本操作等。通过讲解工业机器人，本书使读者能够知晓工业机器人的作用，并借助语言了解其工作能力与要求。
1. 选材新颖 ---- 实用。每个单元的文章专而不深、题材繁而易懂、内容更具针对性；文章字数一般控制在350—500字之内，使学生学起来不感冗长。

该作者在****汽车集团公司教育培训中心工作20多年，在长春汽车工业高等专科学校任教10多年，有较强的企业培训与丰富的高职专业英语教学经验，多次参与全国英语竞赛的出题，在业内较知名。。作者先后教过汽车专业英语、模具专业英语、机电专业英语、数控专业英语等。
